Welcome to APWCS 2024

Dear APWCS 2024 Participants:

It is an honour for me to represent the Organizing Committee to invite you to the 20th IEEE Asia Pacific Wireless Communications Symposium (APWCS 2024), in Singapore, on August 21 – 23, 2024. APWCS is an annual international conference in the area of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) since 2004. This conference is organized by four chapters of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, namely Singapore Chapter, Taipei Chapter, Tokyo/Japan Chapter, and Seoul Chapter. It provides an extensive and exciting platform to discuss the research, standards, development, system integrator, vendor, and user communities in the area of ICT. We believe this conference will benefit us by broadening horizons, stimulating ideas and enhancing contacts with international colleagues.

Beginning with the first symposium, IEEE VTS APWCS 2004, being held in Seoul, Korea, it followed a series of successful meetings: IEEE VTS APWCS 2005 in Sapporo, Japan, IEEE VTS APWCS 2006 in Daejeon, Korea, IEEE VTS APWCS 2007 in Hsinchu, Taiwan, IEEE VTS APWCS 2008 in Sendai, Japan, IEEE VTS APWCS 2009 in Seoul, Korea, IEEE VTS APWCS 2010 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, IEEE VTS APWCS 2011 in Singapore, IEEE VTS APWCS 2012 in Kyoto, Japan, IEEE VTS APWCS 2013 in Seoul, Korea, IEEE VTS APWCS 2014 in Pingtung, Taiwan, IEEE VTS APWCS 2015 in Singapore, IEEE VTS APWCS 2016 in Tokyo, Japan, IEEE VTS APWCS 2017 in Incheon, Korea, IEEE VTS APWCS 2018 in Hsinchu, Taiwan, IEEE VTS APWCS 2019 in Singapore, IEEE VTS APWCS 2021 in Osaka, Japan (1-year delay due to COVID-19), IEEE VTS APWCS 2022 in Seoul, Korea, and IEEE VTS APWCS 2023 in Tainan, Taiwan. The symposium is devoted to advances in wireless communications and networking. The technical program features plenary talks as well as invited and contributed papers presented in oral format. Accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements.

Singapore is one of most energetic economic zones and coastal scenic tourist cities, located in the maritime Southeast Asia. It is popularly known for being a global financial centre and is home to the most amazing world heritage sites, world-class airport with a waterfall view, luxurious malls, and wonderful tourist destinations. With four official languages (i.e., English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil), it has a vibrant and diverse culture. We hope you enjoy your stay in Singapore, and please appreciate the scenery, taste the food and experience the culture to the top of your bent.
